You will deepen your knowledge and understanding of mathematical techniques and their applications and at the same time receive excellent preparation for a wide range of university courses. A Level Mathematics is a versatile qualification that is well-respected by employers and higher education institutions  

What will I learn on this course?

You will develop a range of mathematical knowledge and skills including the ability to reason logically and recognise incorrect reasoning and the ability to model and solve real-world problems. You will learn about Pure Mathematics as well as statistics and mechanics.

An A level in Mathematics can lead into a number of different career paths. 

There is currently a huge shortage of people with STEM skills needed to enter the workforce. As such, there are many further incentives available to those with degrees in Mathematics. There are new applications of Mathematics in technology too with game design and internet security. GCHQ has the largest group of mathematicians working anywhere in the country.

A level Mathematics students can attend external lectures, visit university departments, work with younger students in class and in clubs to develop their confidence in Mathematics, support an EPQ with a mathematical focus and prepare for university entrance exams.
